Having been raised by two teachers it became very early clear to me that teaching is not just a simple job, is a profession.
As soon as I got me bachelor in mathematics, I started teaching to High school students . I still remember the feeling after finishing my first lesson ;what was just starting was really challenging. Teaching requires not only a lot of time for your preparation but also very good communication with your audience which of course is something that is getting better and better with the experience.
I always believed that education is everyone’s right and should be offered equally to everybody, that’s why I have attended 4 years lessons for Greek sign language, Braille code and seminars for people with disabilities; after working two years as an employee, I became owner of a private school teaching mathematics (totally 17 years) and that helped me improve my organization skills and my efficiency in solving various problems that can come up( curriculum issues, exams, notes) .
My teaching activities were not limited only in High school courses; I have tutored many students in university . That was even more intriguing because in the above cases you are called to explain more complicated mathematical concepts.
I do believe that courses should be done in a way that at the end of the day the student should have completely understood what he is taught. Also I do know that this should be done with discussions, exercises, giving examples and applications and it is teacher’s responsibility to challenge and motivate the students.
I am able to teach a variety of subjects in mathematics (algebra, geometry, statistics analysis, analytical geometry), but I am open and well prepared to teach any course that is part of the curriculum of a mathematic department.
Thank you very much for your time and consideration. I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.
